Celebrity Cruises
Relaxed modern luxury: design-hotel interiors, chef-obsessed restaurants, and the famous Magic Carpet floating cantilevered over the sea. This is the premium sweet spot.
The Design-Hotel of the Seas
Celebrity occupies cruising’s most comfortable middle ground: meaningfully more refined than the mainstream giants, meaningfully cheaper than true luxury. The Edge series — Edge, Apex, Beyond, Ascent, and Xcel — rewrote ship design with the Magic Carpet (a tennis-court-sized platform that climbs the hull as a floating restaurant), Infinite Veranda cabins that turn your whole room into a balcony, and interiors from designers like Kelly Hoppen. Food is the brand’s engine: more culinary awards than any other premium line, Michelin-pedigree consulting chefs, and Eden — a three-deck garden-restaurant-lounge that’s the prettiest room afloat. At the top, The Retreat bundles suites with a private sundeck, lounge, and restaurant.
The Vibe
Grown-up, stylish, quietly social — wine flights over belly flops, rooftop garden films, art tours, and a spa that means it.
Signature Stuff
The Magic Carpet, Infinite Veranda staterooms, Eden, The Retreat suite enclave, and chef-driven menus that change by destination.
Who Will Love It
Couples and friends 35+, food-and-wine travelers, and anyone graduating from the big party ships who isn’t ready for luxury-line prices. Excellent in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean alike.

The ship is beautiful. The food is better.
The nap on the infinite veranda? Perfect.
Celebrity FAQs
Is Celebrity a luxury cruise line?
Officially it’s “premium” — a real step up from the mainstream lines in food, design, and service, without true luxury-line pricing. That said, book The Retreat and you’re getting a luxury-line experience (private restaurant, lounge, sundeck, butlers) at a meaningful discount to the all-suite lines.
What makes Edge-class ships different?
They’re designed to face the ocean rather than an interior mall: the cantilevered Magic Carpet platform, Infinite Veranda cabins whose window-walls open to the sea breeze, and Eden’s three-story glass conservatory. If you’ve only sailed older ships, Edge class feels like a different industry.
Is Celebrity good for kids?
Kids sail happily and the Camp at Sea program is solid, but Celebrity is tuned for adults — you won’t find waterparks or ice rinks. For maximum-kid-wattage, sister line Royal Caribbean is the better fit; plenty of families split time between both.
What does Celebrity's All Included fare cover?
All Included bundles the Classic drinks package and basic WiFi into your fare, along with the gratuities on that beverage package. Here is the point people most often misread: it does not cover the daily staff gratuities, which are charged separately to your account and vary by stateroom category, with The Retreat at the highest rate. Specialty dining, shore excursions and spa also sit outside it. We spell out the full picture before you book so nothing lands unexpectedly.
Is Evening Chic compulsory on Celebrity?
No, and Celebrity says so explicitly — if you would rather not take part in Evening Chic, smart casual is perfectly acceptable in the dining room. You get one chic evening on sailings of six nights or fewer and two on seven nights or more. Those who enjoy dressing up genuinely do, so the room looks handsome, but nobody is turned away for a well-cut smart casual outfit. It is one of the more civilised dress policies at sea.
What drinks packages does Celebrity offer?
Three tiers: Classic, which covers drinks up to a set price point and is what comes with most All Included fares; Premium, which raises that ceiling and opens up the better wines and spirits; and a non-alcoholic option. Upgrading from Classic to Premium onboard costs only the difference, which is often the smarter move — you can see the wine list before deciding. WiFi comes in a basic and a premium tier, now running on Starlink.
What are the age groups for Camp at Sea?
Celebrity’s youth programme splits into Shipmates for ages three to five, Cadets for six to nine, Captains for ten to twelve, and a dedicated teen programme for thirteen to seventeen. The activities lean creative and culinary rather than theme-park — art, cooking and science sessions suit the ships they run on. Families are welcome and well looked after, but if your children want waterslides and go-karts, Royal Caribbean will serve them better and we will say so.
What is the Captain's Club?
Celebrity’s loyalty programme, running through Preview, Classic, Select, Elite, Elite Plus and Zenith. Perks start with onboard credit and discounts and build towards complimentary laundry, internet allowances and daily happy hours at the upper tiers. Because Celebrity shares an owner with Royal Caribbean, status is reciprocated between the two programmes — so if you have sailed Royal for years, tell us and we will make sure that history follows you across.
