Can I save these as PDFs instead of printing?
Yes — hit Print on any checklist and choose ‘Save as PDF’ as the destination. The pages are print-styled to strip menus and photos, leaving a clean one-pager for your phone or folder.
Will you keep the checklists updated?
That’s the advantage of web-first printables: when a line changes its corkage rules or a border changes its documents, we update the master here. Print fresh before each cruise and you’re always packing on current rules.
Can I share these checklists with my travel group?
Please do — that is what they are for. Print a set for each cabin, forward the links to the family group chat, or hand them out at a group meeting. There is no email gate and nothing to sign up for. Groups travelling together are exactly the case these were built for, because the person organising a family reunion or a wedding party at sea is the one fielding the same packing question fifteen times.
Which checklist should I start with?
The Pre-Cruise Countdown, because it is the one with deadlines in it — passports, insurance, final payment and the excursions that sell out. Everything else is packing, and packing can be done the week before. Once the countdown is under way, use the main Packing Checklist to build the suitcase, then the Carry-On list for embarkation day and the Port-Day Bag list once you are aboard.
Do these checklists work for any cruise line?
Yes — they are written to be line-agnostic, because the fundamentals are the same whether you are on Royal Caribbean, Princess, Carnival or Cunard. Where lines genuinely differ is in dress codes, drinks policy and what they allow you to bring aboard, and those are the details we confirm for your specific ship when you book. Use the lists for the structure, and ask us about the handful of things that vary.
Do I need to print these, or can I use them on my phone?
Either works, though we would print at least the documents and countdown lists. Phones run out of battery at exactly the wrong moment, and the terminal is the classic example. The pages are built to print clean — no menus or photos — and the same print dialog lets you save as a PDF if you would rather keep them on a device. Many clients do both: a PDF on the phone and one printed set in the carry-on.
Is there a checklist for my specific destination?
There is a dedicated Alaska list, because Alaska’s layering problem is different enough to need its own. For everywhere else, the main Packing Checklist plus the destination guidance on our region pages covers it — the Mediterranean needs walking shoes and modest cover for churches, the Caribbean needs reef-safe sunscreen and water shoes. If you tell us where you are sailing, we will tell you what to add.
